LICHFIELD CITY came from behind to get their league campaign up and running.

After a defeat in their opening Midland Football League Premier Division clash, Ivor Green’s men were keen to get off the mark when they welcomed Uttoxeter Town to the Trade Tyre Community Stadium.

But things didn’t begin well for City who found themselves behind when Kieran Wild netted from the penalty spot after 19 minutes – and things got when worse when Joe Haines was sent to the sin bin for his protests

.

Lichfield levelled in the second half though when Tom Brown scored from inside the box.

Brown then turned provider to put his side in front as his ball into the area was turned home by Dan Lomas.

Uttoxeter found an equaliser in fortuitous circumstances as Haines’ back pass found a way past his own keeper.

Lichfield rallied once more though as a Jack Edwards free kick found the net to make it 3-2.

Any late nerves were settled when Josh Mansell slotted past the keeper to secure all three points for City.
